Coaching Staff
Steve Farley, Butler University Head Baseball Coach. Begins 21st season as Bulldogs head coach in 2012. Owns more wins than any baseball coach in Butler history. Four-time Coach of the Year, five conference regular season or tournament titles and two NCAA regional appearances. Over 20 of Farley’s Butler players have signed professional contracts including current Major Leaguers Pat Neshek (Padres) and Dan Johnson (Rays). Bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota and Master’s degree from the University of Arizona.
DJ Throneburg, who is in his second year as an assistant coach, came to Butler in the winter of 2010 after a successful run at Parkland College, one of the top junior college baseball programs in the nation. Throneburg, who led Parkland College to a national junior college championship in 2009, is Butler's pitching coach and also helps with recruiting, scouting and practice organization. During his four seasons at Parkland, Throneburg served as pitching coach. The team went 50-13 in 2010, finishing fifth in the nation. In 2009, the team posted a 49-9 record and captured the NJCAA National Championship.
Throneburg, who has also worked as an associate scout for the Philadelphia Phillies, played college baseball at Parkland and also Charleston Southern. He has camp experience at some of college baseball's most storied programs, working as an instructor at Florida State, Kentucky, Mississippi State and Illinois.
Michael Dalton is in his first year as an assistant coach for the 2011-12 Bulldogs. He is primarily responsible for hitting and fielding instruction.
Dalton, who played collegiate baseball at Huntington College in Indiana, previously served as the head coach at Danville Area Community College in Illinois and lead the Jaguars to a 31-win season in 2010-11. Additionally, in 2008-09, he worked as a volunteer assistant coach at Ball State University.

Brian Hiscox is in his first season as a volunteer assistant coach for the 2011-12 Bulldogs. He is responsible for working with hitters, catchers and infielders, in addition to handling further duties in other areas of the program.
Hiscox played collegiate baseball at Otterbein University in Ohio, and his outstanding career there consisted of honors as a Third Team All-American, First Team Academic All-American, All-Region and All Conference. After graduating Magna Cum Laude, he finished his career as a Cardinal with a .363 batting average and still holds the school's home run records for single season (18) and career (44).

John Dury is an Indianapolis product. He pitched at Bishop Chatard High School for Indiana Baseball Hall of Fame coach Dave Alexander. Advanced to pitch at North Carolina State University and after a career ending injury became a Wolfpack assistant coach. Graduated from Purdue University with a B.S. in Management in 1980. After being re-united with Alexander as a coach at Purdue University, has been active in the CYO of Indianapolis, various little leagues and travel organizations. With sons having played college baseball at Notre Dame and University of Indianapolis, John brings 25 years of youth coaching experience to Bulldog Baseball Camps.
